Lucie Duxby, Head of Programmes - The Garden

Lucie is an Executive Producer and senior leader known for building dynamic, highly skilled teams that thrive under pressure, take real ownership of their work, and work collaboratively to overcome complex challenges.

Her credits include the first BAFTA-nominated series of 24 Hours in A&E, Channel 4’s first nightly-stripped medical series Emergency, and BBC Two’s ambitious access documentary The Mayfair Hotel Megabuild—projects celebrated for their scale, access, and emotional impact.

Before joining The Garden, Lucie spent a decade creating acclaimed arts and history programmes for Channel 4 and the BBC, and directing some of the UK’s most influential documentary brands, including Educating…, 24 Hours in A&E, and 24 Hours in Police Custody.

Her work is defined by trust-led access, bold storytelling, and a commitment to nurturing editorial talent, empowering teams to deliver their strongest work in demanding environments.

Now Head of Programmes at The Garden, Lucie works closely with the Creative Director to shape and deliver the company’s entire slate, championing both creative excellence and supportive, resilient leadership.

Recent projects include BBC Two’s feature documentary Miners’ Strike: A Frontline Story and the upcoming Netflix medical docu-series Critical. Lucie is widely respected for creating robust teams and factual television that cuts through—and endures.
