Our Story

What initially began as Wonder Women TV, a digital talk show where Ria interviewed three women about their careers to share their collective wisdom and inspire the next generation, after a fantastic response to the online content, quickly evolved into Wonder Women Live, our annual live event which brings 100 women who work in Television together, on International Women’s day.

Each year, 100 women hear from four senior leaders who discuss their colourful careers and most crucially, how they’ve overcome the social and institutional barriers that hold some women back from breaking the glass ceiling.

This celebratory event always sells out and now in its 7th year, has had some of the industries most respected and talented trailblazers share their stories on the infamous panel.

Building on the success of Wonder Women Live, Wonder Women then launched the Wonder Women Mentoring Programme which is now in its third year, to provide long-term mentoring focused on developing women’s leadership skills in response to the swathes of women at mid-senior level leaving the sector due to a lack of flexible-working opportunities, leadership training and obstacles navigating the corporate and production ladder.

This year-long, game changing programme has 30 of the industry’s most-respected senior leaders committed as mentors and has been nominated twice by the National Diversity Awards.

Last year, we held our inaugural all-day Wonder Women Conference at BAFTA which was attended by 240 diverse women and was a resounding success.

Attendees enjoyed a whole day full of inspirational masterclasses taught by leading executive coaches; heard from some of TV’s top senior leaders in industry panel discussions and made new connections in a networking lunch and drinks reception.
